#1 Carnevino by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich The best steak in town? The answer is simple. If you're a connoisseur of aged beef, order one of the 6-to-8-month-old, dry-aged beauties from Molto Mario's Italian steakhouse in The Palazzo. These steaks alone would qualify Carnevino for our top spot, but it also features Batali’s boffo pastas and Italian specialties, most of which take a back seat to none in town. Combine all of this with one of the best Italian wine lists on the planet, and you have the recipe for Las Vegas’s greatest steak house. Excerpt from Las Vegas Weekly Food Critic John Curtas' 10 Best Steakhouses in Las Vegas. The Venetian® and The Palazzo® are proud to host three of the top four!
Partners chef Mario Batali and winemaker Joe Bastianich (NYC Babbo, Otto, Esca- LA Osteria and Pizzeria Mozza) have once again brought their magic to Las Vegas with the opening of their first steakhouse, Carnevino. The name combines the two elements they bring forth - high-quality American meat, and their first-ever international wine list.
Carnevino opened in January 2008 at The Palazzo in Las Vegas, the third restaurant from Mario and Joe in Las Vegas. The first two restaurants are located right next door in The Venetian opened in 2007 with rave reviews. B&B Ristorante was rated 3 stars in an LA Times review which headlined "MOLTO Shows Vegas How It's Done" and Enoteca San Marco awarded "Best New Comer" by Las Vegas magazine.
Continuing the lineage of its two predecessors, Carnevino endeavors to deliver the premier steak experience in Las Vegas to its guests. The restaurant's grand, dramatic spaces are right at home in the brand new, super-luxe development, The Palazzo. With soaring 16 ft. ceilings and Italian marble and wood touches, the handsome and spacious rooms are designed in the scope and the style of a classic Italian villa.
The menu is comprised of fresh and inspiring modern Italian cuisine alongside the traditional steakhouse classics we all know and love. Menu highlights includes Handcut Steak Tartare Piemonte Style, Pappardelle with "Porcini Trifolati," and classic, juicy and mouth-watering house- aged beef steaks- all rubbed with a perfect blend of sea salt, black pepper and fresh rosemary to achieve a delicious and slightly charred crust. In addition there are veal, pork and lamb dishes plus daily specials in the world of poultry and seafood, as well as 12 delicious vegetable side dishes from all over the Italian "boot" that alone could make a meal.
Imagine everything you've thought about traditional steakhouses and add Mario and Joe's hallmarks: the fresh, seasonal produce, spectacular handmade pastas from every region in Italy, fine Balsamic vinegars and all of the other artisanal ingredients that make dining at their restaurants such an authentic Italian experience.
In keeping with their high standards, Carnevino beef is a unique product - all natural, free of hormones and antibiotics, and of an exceptional quality that is unmistakable on the plate and palate, but most importantly, absolutely delicious.
